Hi, I'm Stephan. I'm a Microsoft Azure Architect with over 8 years of experience, and I've helped dozens of enterprises migrate to the cloud. I've architected solutions for companies like BMW, E.ON, and TRUMPF.

The Opportunity

Picture this: You're managing a Key Vault with thousands of secrets. Yes, thousands. Because that's what Key Vaults are designed for – not just two or three passwords, but enterprise-scale secret management. You need to find one specific API key urgently.

Your options?

• The Azure Portal: Click "Load more items"... wait... click again... wait... scroll... click again... (repeat 50 times)
• Azure CLI: Remember the exact syntax, type commands, parse JSON output, copy-paste values carefully
• Give up: Ask a colleague if they remember where that secret was

We're Mac users sitting in front of beautiful, powerful machines with stunning operating systems. We have elegant apps for everything – email, notes, calendars, code editing. Why shouldn't we have the same experience for managing our cloud secrets?

Building the Solution

Here's the thing about being both a software developer and a cloud architect: when you see an opportunity to make engineers' lives better, you can actually do something about it. And that's exactly what I did.

I started KeyVault Studio with a clear mission: bring the same elegance and efficiency we expect from modern Mac apps to Azure Key Vault management. The goals were simple:

• Make finding secrets instant – search across thousands in milliseconds
• Enable seamless multi-account management for consultants and agencies
• Provide visual version comparison like modern development tools
• Create a native Mac experience that feels right at home
• Build confidence through better visibility and safer operations

Building What Should Already Exist

As I built KeyVault Studio, I kept asking myself: why doesn't Microsoft make this? They have world-class engineers. They understand user experience. They make Visual Studio Code, one of the best editors ever created. There's clearly room for innovation here.

The answer doesn't matter. What matters is that we needed a solution, and now we have one.

KeyVault Studio isn't just a wrapper around Azure APIs. It's a complete reimagining of how Key Vault management should work:
